Hello and welcome to another week of Bookmarks! The Library seems to be holding steady, which is great news for everyone but during this time we are not doing many activities and that can make for light reading. We are still doing biweekly activities for children and teens and monthly activities for adults, so please stop by and pick up yours today. Also, we are working on a Winter Reading Program for all ages that would culminate in a community goal of total minutes read. Watch for more information on that as it comes together. For this week we wanted to change it up a bit and will be talking about some of our new picture books, perfect for the younger reader in your life.
“Kitties on Dinosaurs” by Michael Slack. Join three kitties in their mission to climb everything there is to climb, including three dinosaurs! The problem? The dinosaurs do not want to be climbed and thwart the kitties in their creative and inventive plans to scale their backs or land on their heads. Will they make it to the top? Check out the book to find out! Available now in the children’s department of the Mondovi Public Library.
“Test This Book” by Louie Zong. What have you tried doing with a book? Professor Bear and Professor Frog want to find out all the different things you can do with a book and the reader can join them in their experiments. They try sitting on the book, shaking the book, even whispering secrets to the book. Go on a scientific journey with the two professors and share all the things you learned books can do. Available in the children’s department of the Mondovi Public Library.
“How to Potty Train Your Porcupine” by Tom Toro. Siblings find a free porcupine and boy are they excited! But Mom and Dad won’t allow the porcupine into the house as long as she doesn’t make a mess. The siblings try a bunch of different ways to potty train their new porcupine, will any of them work? Will they get to keep their new porcupine in the house? Read to find out! Available in the children’s department of the Mondovi Public Library.
