We have had such an outpouring of support from our community lately and we wanted to express how grateful we are and how proud we are to be a part of this community. With that, a heartfelt “Thank You” goes out to CCF Bank for their donation of $500.00 to the Mondovi Public Library Building Project, given to us last week. We are so thankful for their generosity. On that note, the Capital Campaign Committee, in charge of fundraising for the new library building, is starting a donation jar campaign throughout town. They will be placing jars in area businesses that will collect donations for the building project. The first round of businesses that have graciously agreed to place the jars in their stores are Beauty Nook, Cenex Service Station, Hair It Iz, Jody’s Clip Joynt, Joe’s Shop Quik, New Beginnings, and Sheer Trends. If you visit these businesses during the month of October, please consider donating to the library building fund while you’re there.

While we are thanking people, a thank you goes out to the Friends of the Library for all their hard work putting together the book sale and diligently going through dozens of boxes of books. They went through every book in the Marten Center last Monday and then made daily visits to the library throughout the week restocking the tables and carts, until finally packing everything up this past Monday. We were glad to still have the annual Book Sale fundraiser, despite the smaller scale. The Friends use the money from the book sale to help with library needs, such as bookshelves, prizes for the summer reading program, programming, and more. If you are interested in joining the Friends of the Library, feel free to ask at the Library. The Friends meet each quarter, so four times per year, and their main events are the winter social and the book sale.

Miss Helen has been working hard developing a Take-and-Make schedule for the early winter months! If you have any ideas or feedback for us on the past activities, please let us know. You can stop in the library, send us an email message, or give us a call. We are glad to provide some activities and projects for our community since the library is not yet able to have in person programming. We are also very grateful to Miss Helen for all of her wonderful virtual Story Times that she has been doing since we were originally shut down in March. Thank you, Miss Helen!
