We want to say a huge “Thank You!” to the Mondovi Area Clergy Association (MACA) for their generous donation in honor of the 2020 Mondovi Graduates to the Mondovi Public Library Capital Campaign. We are very grateful to MACA for their support of our library as a vital community service and for their kind words expressed in last week’s paper. The Mondovi Public Library has been raising funds in order to construct a new library building, adjacent to the current building that will grow our space, our collection, and our opportunities to support the community. The goal amount is $1.4 million, and through many generous donors have raised nearly a third of the money required. For more information, please visit our website www.mondovilibary.org and click on the Capital Campaign tab.

Next week Tuesday is National Voter Registration Day. The library will be participating in this event and will help to register voters. If you are interested in registering, please stop by the library during our open hours on Tuesday, September 22nd, no appointment necessary. You will need to bring along proof of residency to complete registration. For a complete list of what qualifies as proof of residency, please visit www.myvote.wi.gov.

Mark your calendars for upcoming Banned Books Week and the Friends of the Library Book Sale occurring September 28th-October 3rd. On the first day, Monday, September 28th, the Friends will be working in the Roger Marten Community Center, preparing books for the rest of the week, and conducting the sale. The Community Center will be open 10 am to 4 pm for anyone that wishes to stop by and buy some books! If you cannot make it to the Community Center that day, the sale will start again on a smaller scale in the Library on Tuesday, September 29th, and continue through Saturday during the Library’s open hours. A few notes about the sale, it will be donation based this year, take what you want and pay what you can; it will be smaller with a rotating selection as space allows; all Library visitation rules will still apply such as number of persons in the Library building, etc. If you have any questions about the upcoming book sale, please reach out and we will do our best to answer them. We hope you can make some time to stop down and find a great new book to own!

Stop by and see us soon! The Library is open Monday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Library is closed on Sunday. Check out our website, www.mondovilibrary.org or find us on Facebook.
