We hope that everyone had a fun and safe Labor Day weekend. This week was the beginning of our new regular hours at the Library! If you have not heard the Library has changed its hours and will now be open 43 regular hours per week. Now that Labor Day has passed, we will also be open again on Saturday’s until Memorial Day. Stop by the Library or head on over to our website for Facebook page for more information.

There are about two weeks left until National Voter Registration Day, on Tuesday, September 22nd. The Library has volunteered to help voters get registered this year, meaning a Librarian will be available to anyone who would like assistance. We can help you register to vote online, print out paper applications, and make scans or copies of your proof of residency for you. We also have absentee ballot applications available in the Library, given to us by the League of Women Voters Greater Chippewa Valley. This year marks the 100th anniversary of Women’s Suffrage and the League of Women Voters is doing a large push to make sure everyone who wants to vote is able to. If you cannot make it to the Library to register on National Voter Registration Day, feel free to come by another time and use the Library resources to do so. We will be glad to help you.

Do you have a great idea for a Take-and-Make activity the Library could put together for our late fall and winter months? Let us know! Stop by, send us an email, or contact us through Facebook. We hope to continue producing Take-and-Make activities biweekly for children and teens, and monthly for adults, until our regular programming can resume. This means we are always in need of new ideas, and we welcome yours. If you are unfamiliar with our Take-and-Make activities, you can find the schedule on our website. We put together roughly 15 packages with a craft or STEAM activity to complete at home. All or almost all of the supplies needed are included in each kit.

Do not forget to mark your calendars for upcoming Banned Books Week and the Friends of the Library Book Sale occurring September 28th-October 3rd. On the first day, Monday, September 28th, the Friends will be working in the Roger Marten Community Center, preparing books for the rest of the week, and conducting the sale. The Community Center will be open 10 am to 4 pm for anyone that wishes to stop by and buy some books! If you cannot make it to the Community Center that day, the sale will start again on a smaller scale in the Library on Tuesday, September 29th, and continue through Saturday during the Library’s open hours. A few notes about the sale, it will be donation based this year, take what you want and pay what you can; it will be smaller with a rotating selection as space allows; all Library visitation rules will still apply such as number of persons in the Library building, etc. If you have any questions about the upcoming book sale, please reach out and we will do our best to answer them. We hope you can make some time to stop down and find a great new book to own!

Stop by and see us soon! The Library is open Monday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Library is closed on Sunday. Check out our website, www.mondovilibrary.org or find us on Facebook.
